About Cup Conquest
Cup Conquest is a middle school robotics tournament built on strategy and teamwork instead of robot combat — and it's the flagship game from Ready, Set, Robotics!
Why we made it
Competitive robotics is one of the best ways to learn engineering, coding, and teamwork — but registration fees and equipment costs put it out of reach for a lot of schools. Cup Conquest was designed to keep the hands-on, competitive experience while taking those barriers out of the way.
Strategy over combat
Most robotics games reward the biggest, toughest robot. Cup Conquest rewards the smartest plan — no robot-to-robot contact, so a first-year team can out-think a veteran one.
Teamwork built in
Every Alliance pairs two Teams on one field. Students have to communicate, divide the work, and cooperate to win — the same skills the game is really there to teach.
Runnable by anyone
Clear rules, printable materials, and a field you can build from classroom supplies or 3D-print yourself. No specialized equipment and no prior robotics experience required.
Works with what you have
VEX, LEGO, Arduino, or anything else — Cup Conquest is platform-agnostic on purpose, so cost and brand never decide who gets to compete.
Meet the creator
Cup Conquest was created by Matt, the founder of Ready, Set, Robotics! Matt spent six years competing in VEX and FIRST robotics through middle and high school, and stayed active in the robotics community the whole way through. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and works as an actuary.
He started Ready, Set, Robotics! to spread robotics to more students. It's an expensive subject, and Matt saw that firsthand — his own public schools ran into funding problems just registering for competitions. Cup Conquest is that idea made real: a complete tournament any teacher can run, designed to be affordable, simple to set up, and genuinely fun to compete in.
Part of the Ready, Set, Robotics! family
Ready, Set, Robotics! is a small company with a big goal: make competitive robotics something any classroom can afford. Cup Conquest is its flagship game — explore the parent site to see what else is in the works and follow along as the lineup grows.
